This week at Freerange: absurdly exciting things are happening. To start, the FREERANGE NONFICTION AUGUST INSTALLMENT takes place this Wednesday, August 3, at 7pm at Pianos (158 Ludlow). This month we are featuring DEB OLIN UNFERTH, author of the memoir Revolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War, CARMELA CIURARU, author of Nom de Plume: A (Secret) History of Pseudonyms, and SETH FRIED, author of the short story collection The Great Frustration. These three fantastic individuals will be joined by Courtney Maum, recipient of an Honorable Mention for the Dzanc Short Story Collection Contest, and B. Carter Edwards, who very recently was awarded the Hudson Prize from Black Lawrence Press, earning him publication of two manuscripts, one of short stories and the other in poetry (Congrats, Carter!). RSVP for the event on Facebook!
This week we are premiering two thrilling selections for the Freerange blog. Liana Scalettar’s essay Raspail appears this week at Freshly Hatched, and Molly Rose Quinn (FR’s Managing Director) interviews Diana Spechler. Spechler, who performed at Freerange a month ago, offers her insights on her latest novel, Skinny.
See you all on Wednesday night!
